And so it begins.......
I could have never imagined the twists and turns my life would take and I don't think anyone else could have imagined it either! When I started high school I had big plans of being popular and partying. Somehow I got convinced to go on a retreat with my church that year. A young man in college stood in front of a room full of high school teenagers and told us "God has something to say to you, a very special message that is just for you, and in all your life HE deserves one chance when you are going to listen and hear what He has to say." Though I barely knew this guy what he said made sense and I decided to give God that moment right then and there. (and as a side note funny thing about THAT GUY - to this day he continues to still stand in front of teenagers and encourage them to hear what God is saying! - His name is Jason Evert!) And BOY OH BOY did God ever speak! Since that evening I have always tried my best to keep listening to what it is God is saying and exactly where He is calling me to be. When I was in college at Franciscan University of Steubenville I joined a group of women in a Household called Carae Domini and when I was inducted the sister that honored me played the Twila Paris song below. I was in awe how well she had come to know me in such a short time but this song truly has become a theme song in my life! From spending my summers through college working at Cedar Point (a complete contrast to my life at FUS), going on a mission trip to Medjugorje, taking time off of college to live with my sister and care for her infant twins - my niece and nephew, to becoming a Youth Minister and moving to Indiana, changing careers to working with children in a day care and then becoming a nanny, and now MOVING with my husband and son to England - something when we first started dating I didn't think I would ever be able to do! As I await to receive my visa I am excited for all that is in store for me and my little family across the pond! I am excited about using this blog to share with friends and family and all who care to hear about our adventures there. I may be moving to England but THIS AMERICAN GIRL will always be just a small town country girl!
